By way of background, our client was shopping inside a major supermarket which was located in the Western suburbs of Sydney. She was walking down an aisle when she suddenly slipped on some grapes. She spent a considerable amount of money on treatment, doctors and undergoing scans. Our client also wanted to claim compensation for the gratuitous care that her family provided for her.
The Defendants denied liability. This issue of liability was hotly contested throughout the entire claim. However Christine continued to obtain more evidence, including an expert liability report from consulting engineers regarding the standard of care required of a super market.
The parties attended an Informal Settlement Conference for the slip & fall claim. This enabled the parties to obtain a positive outcome without having to go to Court. After negotiations, we were able to secure a total of $92,500 for our client. Our client was pleased with the result and ready to move on with her life.
