Two car crash in northern NSW

A collision involving a station wagon and a sedan has occurred in the far north of New South Wales on January 17.

The accident resulted in one fatality and saw two individuals hospitalised after they suffered severe injuries.

Police say that the crash occurred on Bangalow Road, close to the intersection of Friday Hut Road at Binna Burra.

According to reports, A Holden Statesman and a station wagon connected at around 17:55 – though it is unclear what caused the incident.

The passenger in the wagon – a 34-year-old man – died at the scene form his injuries, while his 53-year old male driver received serious injuries to his head.

He was airlifted to Lismore Base Hospital by the Westpac Rescue helicopter where he remains in a stable condition, with medical staff indicating that he has since been stabilised.

The driver of the Holden – a 27-year-old woman – suffered injuries to her face as a result of the accident.

Bother parties were trapped in the remains of their vehicles for almost an hour before emergency services were able to cut them free.

The female victim was transported by road ambulance to Lismore Base Hospital where staff members say she is in a satisfactory condition.

Police closed the roadway between Bangalow and Clunes for a number of hours while the pair were freed from the wreckage.

Diversions were kept in place to allow members of the Ballina Crash Investigation Unit to examine the scene before salvage crews were allowed to remove the wreckage and clear the remaining debris.

Individuals who are injured in a vehicular collision in NSW are often able to make claims for car accident compensation – with payments going towards medical treatments and rehabilitation therapies that can speed up the recovery process.

These funds can be made available even if the person was not directly involved in the crash – meaning that passengers are also eligible.

An experienced car accident lawyer can explain the processes behind the application process – including the kinds of medical documentation required by a successful claim.

Compensation payments are made available through the Motor Accidents Authority, which regulates the legislation that relates to car crash injuries and how they are processed by the courts.

To gain a better understanding of these requirements, individuals can contact a trusted law firm to help them navigate the legal sequence of a court case – potentially maximising a payout.
