The health care complaints commission was created by the state government of NSW  to protect the general public health and safety of all citizens who use health services provided by any medical institution and  medical provider including but not limited to medical practitioners, medical specialists, physiotherapists, chiropractors,  both public and private hospitals, dentists, nurses , nursing homes and retirement villages.

Complaints can be lodged by email by accessing the healthcare complaints commission website www.hccc.gov.au  And the commission can organize a conciliation conference and also provide no-cost general medical NOT LEGAL advice as to the merits of your particular matter.

The healthcare complaints commission has the power to make decisions about medical providers including enforcement of professional standards, cancelling  or suspending  health practitioners licenses, issuing  public statements and warnings to negligent practitioners and medical care facilities, and making recommendations to medical institutions to change procedures.
