79-year-old man receives $120,000 after slip and fall at Supermarket on Central Coast

PUBLISHED 06 Apr 2020

Our client is an elderly man who was doing his weekly grocery shopping at his local supermarket on the Central Coast when he suffered a slip and fall. Whilst our client was walking out of the supermarket, he slipped on the water on the floor which had been brought into the shop by trolleys which were left outside in the rain.

As a result of the incident, our client sustained injuries to his left hip and left shoulder which impacted his daily life. After many years of work and diligence, our client had always planned to enjoy his retirement and spend quality time with his loved ones. However, the incident had suddenly changed his circumstances.

The Public Liability Team at Gerard Malouf and Partners fought hard for our client obtaining expert reports in support of the injuries sustained in the incident and the impact the incident has had on our client’s retired life.

Once our team obtained all the supporting evidence, we were able to negotiate with the Defendant to achieve a great settlement for the client. Our client was pleased with the result as the settlement meant that he will not be required to attend court and experience the stress associated with a hearing. The settlement outcome received will assist our client with future treatment costs and his ongoing requirement for assistance with personal care, domestic household duties, car cleaning and property maintenance.
