Oakhurst warehouse manager is awarded injury compensation following car accident

Gerard Malouf and Partners have recently settled a claim for a 56 year old furniture warehouse manager from Oakhurst, Mr K, who was involved in a car accident.

On 4 July 2013 Mr K was travelling along Railway Street, Rooty Hill, when another vehicle pulled in front of him and caused a collision. Our client has suffered injuries to both shoulders, neck, back and his right wrist and arm.

Mr K was quite a stoic individual and wanted to return to work straight away. However he was unable to undertake the manual labour type work that he previously had to assisted with. Mr K did have to take sick days and have days of to visit doctors for medical treatment, we were able to reimburse Mr K for these losses.

As a result of the accident Mr K has attended upon his general practitioner and undertook physiotherapy. Mr K was in considerable pain for most of the day a attended upon neurological surgeon to determine the extent of his injuries.

Mr K was in good hands having Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law, Vrege Kolokossian looking after her claim. He asserted that his injuries overcame the 10% whole person impairment threshold and argued the matter before the Motor Accidents Authority who authorised an independent assessor to determine the issue.

Unfortunately for Mr K his injuries where only assessed at 7% whole person impairment. While one head of damage was precluded Mr Kolokossian was still able to make strong submissions in relation to economic loss, future medical expenses and damages for required domestic care and assistance.

Mr Kolokossian was able to make robust claims for the future restrictions that Mr K would find in his future occupation, being a furniture warehouse manager Mr K would often be require to do heavy lifting a pushing.

Mr Kolokossian was also able to make claims for the future treatment requirements of Mr K, needing reviews by orthopaedic specialists, medication and further radiological investigations.

At Gerard Malouf and Partners we pride ourselves on the on our ability to negotiate matters and find a resolution for you without wasting the time and costs of the court process. Mr Kolokossian was able to settle Mr K’s claim for over $90,000.00 finding a quick resolution to his claim.
