$60K Compensation payout for women rear ended in car accident

PUBLISHED 24 Sep 2013

A woman was driving home on the motorway when she took her exit and came to a stop along with other traffic. Moments later, a vehicle travelling behind failed to stop and collided into the rear of her vehicle. As a result of the accident the woman sustained injuries to her neck, back and right shoulder.

Following the accident the injured woman contacted our office to make enquires about making a claim for compensation. We took on her case on a no win, no fee basis and lodged a claim form with the CTP Insurer. We were able to get our client’s ongoing medical expenses paid by the insurer whilst we actively pursued further compensation on her behalf for the injuries she sustained in the accident.

Our client was not working at the time of the accident and had a patchy work history however we were still able to obtain compensation for her lost work opportunities. We were also able to claim compensation for her past and future out of pocket and treatment expenses for things such as physiotherapy, medication, etc. Further, we were able to claim compensation for domestic assistance to assist her with heavy tasks around the home including mowing the lawns, gardening etc.

Through undertaking the appropriate investigations and building up our client’s claim, we were able to reach a settlement with the insurance company without the need for any costly litigation. We were able to obtain an award of compensation for our client in excess of $60,000.
