Brian Hatch  -  Compensation Lawyer

One ought never to turn ones back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly and without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half. - Sir Winston Churchill

About Brian

Brian has an Arts degree and Law degree (with Honours) from the Australian National University. Brian practiced law in Canberra for many years, acting for aggrieved clients in compensation claims. Eventually the cold became too much, and Brian moved to Sydney for better weather, and a change of pace.

Legal practice in Canberra often means taking on the might of the federal government, and Brian enjoys taking on those at fault no matter how strong they want to act, and winning claims for his clients.

His work at Gerard Malouf and Partners mostly involves public liability claims. Many people are severely injured in going about their everyday lives through the fault of shopping centres, and poorly designed buildings, and particularly floors, and in public areas.

Brian is able to quickly understand the nature of incidents that occur and advise as to whether there is fault leading to the injuries. Sometimes the best advice is that the accident will not lead to a claim, but often a client will not recognize that a claim should be made and that is where Brian’s expertise in recognizing the issues involved leads to proper compensation being paid.

Compensation will not put you back in the place you were before the injury, but will ensure that the future is cared for as best that money can do in unfortunate circumstances.

Brian believes that his clients deserve to be heard and their problems resolved.

In his spare time, Brian enjoys travel and driving, particularly his 1980 Ford Falcon, still in original condition.
