About Marie-Therese
Marie-Therese Sahade was admitted as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and of the High Court of Australia on 19 February 1999. Her admission was moved by her brother, Marcel a Sydney barrister. Prior to completion of the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board Course of New South Wales, she graduated from the University of Sydney, as a Bachelor of Arts. She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Technology, Sydney. She was always interested in being a lawyer and believes that everyone is entitled to their rights and benefits under the law.
Since her admission she has always represented the plaintiff preparing matters for litigation before the Supreme Court of New South Wales, the District Court of New South Wales, the Workers Compensation Commission, the Local Court of New South Wales, the Dust Disease Tribunal and the New South Wales Court of Appeal. Her areas of practice and experience are in motor vehicle accidents, workers' compensation, medical negligence, public liability, product liability, occupier's liability and victims of crime compensation. She has worked with counsel and senior counsel in difficult and catastrophic cases, and has also attended mediations as an alternative to litigation. She has also acted for clients in criminal law, family law and debt recovery matters.
She has experience and knowledge first hand from her clients of their many questions of the legal system, its procedure, and of the law. She has encountered her clients when they are in difficult and life changing predicaments and they are seeking their legal rights and entitlements. She also has much delight and joy in seeing a client happy on the successful completion of their matter.
When Marie-Therese Sahade is not at work she enjoys sleeping, as well as good food and good company. She also enjoys listening to music, leisurely walks along the beach and reading.
